چکیده

We have synthesized three-dimensional self-assembled ZnO-based nanoscale heterostructures through the addition of alloying elements (In or Sn) during the vapor phase transport and condensation deposition process. Each threedimensional nanoscale heterostructure consists of a faceted nanowire core, with side branches (nanoribbons or nanorods) emanating from facets of the central nanowire core. The central nanowire core can be either ZnO, ðZnOÞ11In2O3, or In2O3, depending on incoming flux composition ratio. The physical mechanism of branching stems from segregation of alloying elements to facets during the growth of the nanowire core, thus creating nucleation sites for

DNA-Templated Self-Assembly of Protein Arrays and Highly Conductive Nanowires

A DNA nanostructure consisting of four four-arm junctions oriented with a square aspect ratio was designed and constructed. Programmable self-assembly of 4 x 4 tiles resulted in two distinct lattice morphologies: uniform-width nanoribbons and two-dimensional nanogrids, which both display periodic square cavities. Periodic protein arrays were achieved by templated self-assembly of streptavidin o...

Highly Ordered Self-Assembly of Native Proteins into 1D, 2D, and 3D Structures Modulated by the Tether Length of Assembly-Inducing Ligands.

In nature, proteins self-assemble into various structures with different dimensions. To construct these nanostructures in laboratories, normally proteins with different symmetries are selected. However, most of these approaches are engineering-intensive and highly dependent on the accuracy of the protein design. Herein, we report that a simple native protein LecA assembles into one-dimensional ...
